The theme this year was œDisruptive Technologies ” but by far the two most common discussion points were around block chain and open source. The sharing of technology is obviously on everyone’s mind.
The pros shared were obvious:
- Raises coding quality
- Collaborative efforts typically lead to cheaper, faster output
- More secure
The major con was presented as a question: How do you (as a CTRM system provider) maintain competitive advantage?
The potential solution to this question lies in the perspective you take, namely that software is not in itself an advantage, but in how you use software that can have a significant impact on the business.
These, among others, were important insights that were explored in depth by the various speakers and presenters that were able to make it, despite the unfortunate weather issues that delayed/cancelled flights into Amsterdam.
Overall, the conference was well worth it, as in years past. I’m already looking forward to the next one. You can also check out ComTech’s wrap-up of the conference.
